At Huish Episcopi, our mission is to empower our young people to make informed choices so that they can pursue their ambitious aspirations.

Our ambitious, knowledge-rich curriculum is broad and balanced, logically sequenced, and offers a wealth of experiences and meaningful connections. Proudly tailored to our rural community, our students encounter challenging content that ignites curiosity and sparks a love of learning for life. Through research-informed Teaching and Learning, our expert teachers have an unwavering focus on achieving the best in everyone and use in-depth knowledge of individuals to adapt instruction to meet the needs of all. This enables students to secure excellent outcomes that will set them up for success in whatever they choose to do.

Outstanding literacy work further strengthens our offer. We support our students to become fluent readers, confident writers and articulate speakers. Through our co-curricular programme (Character, Personal Development, and Careers), students develop the personal qualities of ambition, respect and resilience. Our students leave us ready to face the challenges of an ever-changing world and live fulfilling lives enriched by kindness.

Huish Episcopi fosters a sense of belonging for all, and we eagerly anticipate and celebrate our students’ future successes.

Pupil Premium

A significant number of our pupils are in receipt of the Pupil Premium grant and deserve the same opportunities and experiences as their peers.  Closing the attainment gap between PP students and their peers is another significant priority at Huish Episcopi.  All staff are aware of who these pupils are and what specific needs they might have, so that appropriate intervention and support can be put in place in a timely manner.  We expect teachers to monitor the work of Pupil Premium students regularly and closely and to liaise with colleagues and parents / carers to ensure these pupils are receiving the support they need to succeed. For more information, please see our Strategy Statement.
