Our Latest Ofsted Report is Now Available

Ofsted carried out an inspection of Huish Episcopi Academy in May 2026. This marks the school's first inspection since joining United Learning in 2023 and the first under Ofsted's new education inspection framework, which was introduced in November 2025.

The Inspectors concluded that the school meets the “expected standard” across five key criteria and was judged to display a “strong standard” in a further two. In our experience to date, the grading of “expected standard” is equivalent to a slightly more rigorous grading of ‘Good’ under the previous inspection framework.

We are delighted that the inspection recognises the significant improvements that have been made within the school over the last few years. It is particularly pleasing to see the report highlights that “pupils are proud to attend Huish Episcopi” and that the school is a “happy, positive and safe environment where pupils thrive.” These comments reflect the culture we have worked hard to establish together.

We are also extremely proud that the inspection recognises the dedication and commitment of our staff. The report acknowledges the positive culture within the school and the relentless focus of leaders and colleagues in continuing to drive improvement. Every member of staff plays a vital role in ensuring that students are supported in all aspects of school life, and it is wonderful to see this recognised.

As a school, we are committed to continual improvement. We will carefully consider the areas identified for further development and ensure that we address these with pace and clarity, so that we continue to deliver the very best for all our students.

The strength of our school community has been central to the progress we have made, and this is a report that, together, we can be proud of.
